Spurs, spur slip and spur rests
With Equitector boots with a correctly fitted spur, it should not slip and spur rests are not needed. Spurs should fit snug but should be comfortable. There is no real 'right' position for spurs on your boots Some riders prefer them lower down whilst others prefer it higher up. It depends on your leg length and what discipline you do. Therefore fixed spur rests in boots may not be positioned in the correct place for you. This can make a spur rest a hindrance rather than an aid. The correct size spur is needed for your boot size, but if your spur is slightly too wide for your boot then you can tighten this easily. Hold the spur sideways on a solid surface like a kitchen top and with your hand apply steady but firm pressure. The spur will now bend. Just do a little at a time until you reach the correct width for your boot. If you have overdone it then it will bend back. Alternatively you can purchase spur rubbers. These also prevent spur slip.
